Manimala Bridge
The oldest bridge in Kottayam district, this bridge across the Manimala River was constructed in June 1915 by British Engineering Department Chief B. Astos over two and a half years. It is known as the Manimala Kochupalam (Manimala Small Bridge). Historical records show that prominent leaders, including Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, traveled across this bridge in 1952, and it served as a venue for numerous freedom struggle demonstrations and gatherings.
